Forthcast + Claude: Read-Only Inventory Answers in Claude

TL;DR: Forthcast is a listed connector in the Claude connectors directory. Claude reads your Forthcast inventory data over MCP, so you can ask about stock health, what to reorder and which purchase orders are open in a normal chat. Access is read-only; every change still happens in Forthcast.

How it works

Add Forthcast from the Claude connectors directory, or as a custom connector with the server URL https://app.forthcast.io/mcp, then sign in to Forthcast and allow read access. Claude then answers questions from your Shopify demand forecast, reorder alerts, purchase orders and supplier records for the account you signed in with.

• The data movement is from Forthcast to Claude, on request, for one signed-in Forthcast account.
• Works in Claude on the web, in the desktop and mobile apps, and in Claude Code.
• Directory connectors are available on every Claude plan; on Team and Enterprise an Owner enables it once for the organisation.
• Disconnect at any time from Claude's connector settings or from your connections page in Forthcast.

What merchants should know

The connector asks for one permission: read access to inventory data. Claude cannot change stock levels or settings, and it cannot create, approve or send purchase orders. Those actions stay in Forthcast. Setup steps, including Claude Code, are on the Connect Forthcast to Claude help page.

Pricing and availability

Forthcast pricing is $19.99 per month flat with no SKU tiers or per-SKU fees, with a 14-day trial billed through Shopify. Integration availability does not change that product price.
