Forthcast Help Centre

Plain-English answers to how Forthcast works — what every number on the Replenishment table means, how reorder points and safety stock are calculated, how bundles, packaging and purchase orders flow through, and how to tune the settings that drive every recommendation.

Overview

Replenishment

Reorder Point
When your on-hand stock drops to the reorder point, it is time to place an order.
Safety Stock
Safety stock is a built-in buffer above your expected demand. It protects against two things: demand arriving faster than usual, and suppliers taking longer than their stated lead time.
Order Quantity
Order quantity is the suggested quantity to reorder to bring your stock back to a safe level.
Days of Stock
Days of stock tells you how long your current inventory will last at your current sales rate.
Revenue to Protect
Revenue to protect is the sales revenue at risk if you run out of stock during your lead time window.
In Transit
In-transit units are on open purchase orders that have not yet been received.
Replenishment status badges
Status badges flag what to do with each SKU at a glance.
ABC Classification
ABC classification is a quick way to see which SKUs matter most.
